December 9, 2010
waza, gō, gyō
When you read this gō, this character means karma or uncontrollable feelings. When you read this gyō or waza, it means business.
Karma
In some religions like Buddhism, reincarnation is believed. Gō is your behavior which repays you or punishes you in the next world. Your current life is a reward for your good behavior in a previous incarnation. Your bad luck also comes from your previous incarnation. This can be interpreted as your destiny but in Buddhism what seems to be destiny has reasons, which are described as karma.
Uncontrollable Feelings
Feelings are sometimes uncontrollable. Once in a long while gō means such feelings. You might make it boil. “Gō wo niyasu” means to get irritated. Niyasu means to boil.
Business
Sangyō means industry. Shōgyō means commerce. Kigyō is a corporation. Eigyō is sales. Jigyō is a business activity. Gyōseki means achievement, performance, or business results.
