"To" by Nao

kata, hō, pō

This character has several meanings. One of them indicates a direction. “Hō e” or “hō ni” means to. “hikarino hō e” means “to the light place.” Compass directions are hōi. Happō means every direction. Its literal meaning is eight directions. “Happō bi jin“ is a person who tries to please everybody.

This character also means a four-sided figure. A rectangle is chōhōkei. A square is seihōkei. Kei means a shape. A rectangular parallelepiped is chokuhōtai. A cube is rippōtai.

It also means time. gata is evening before the sunset. Gata is the voiced sound of kata. Asagata is early in the morning. Asa means morning.

The suffix kata means the way of doing something. The way of living is ikikata. The way of writing something such as sentences, letters, or calligraphy is kakikata. Arukikata means how to walk, and hashirikata, how to run.

  1. Draw the dot on the top.
  2. Draw the horizontal line.
  3. Draw the hook.
  4. Draw the sweeping stroke.
