utsuku-shi i, bi, mi, chu-ra (Okinawan)
Bi is beauty. Utsuku-shii means beautiful. In an Okinawan dialect, chu-ra means beautiful, having the same character.
Fine art is bijutsu, of which the jutsu means technique. An art museum is bijutsukan, of which the kan means a museum. The National Art Center, Tokyo is one of the biggest art museums in Japan. Its Japanese name is Kokuritsu Shin Bijutsukan. Kokuritsu means national. Shin means new.
The commercial and obsessive word, bihaku, means beauty white. Cosmetic companies and beauticians encourage women to make their face white. Beauty culture is biyō, of which the yō means appearance. A beauty parlor is biyōin, of which the in means a building. A stylist is biyōshi, of which the shi means a master.
Aestheticism is bigaku. Dandyism is expressed as “otoko no bigaku,” that is, men’s aestheticism.
All the horizontal lines are parallel.
- Draw the dot from the top left. It heads toward the next dot on the right.
- Draw the sweeping dot from the top right.
- Draw the horizontal stroke touching the previous dots.
- Draw the vertical stroke.
- Draw the second horizontal stroke.
- Draw the third horizontal stroke touching the bottom of the vertical stroke.
- Draw the longest horizontal line.
- Draw the sweeping stroke from the center to the lower left corner of the character. Make it narrower at the end.
