mana-bu, gaku

Mana-bu is a verb “study.”

A school is gakkō, of which means a school building. Shōgakkō is an elementary school. Shō means small. Chūgakkō is a junior high school. Daigaku is a university.

Most studies accompany the suffix –gaku.

  • Philosophy is tetsugaku, of which the tetsu means wise.
  • Psychology is shin rigaku.
  • Sociology is shakaigaku, of which the shakai is society.
  • Political science is seijigaku, of which the seiji means politics.
  • Women’s Studies is joseigaku, of which jo means women.
  • Literature is bungaku, of which the bun means text.
  • Economics is keizaigaku, of which the keizai means economy.
  • Linguistics is gengogaku, of which the gengo means language.
  • Theology is shingaku, of which the shin means God.
  • Archeology is kōkogaku, of which the kō means to think and the ko means old.
  • Mathematics is sūgaku, of which the sū means numbers.
  • Geometry is kikagaku, of which the kika means geometry.
  • Medical science is igaku, of which the i means medicine.
  • Physiology is sei rigaku.
  • Biology is sei butsugaku.
  • Botany is shokubutsugaku, of which the shoku means to plant.
  • Chemistry is kagaku, of which the ka means to react and to change.
  • Pharmacy is yakugaku.
  • Physics is butsu rigaku.
  • Engineering is kōgaku, of which kō means engineering. Engineering has some subcategories. For example, civil engineering, which is do bokukōgaku, and genetic engineering, which is idenshikōgaku. Idenshi means genes.

Draw the dots on the top, first.

study with the stroke order and direction

  1. Draw the dot on the left from the left. Just put down the brush and raise it, heading toward the next stroke.
  2. Draw the dot in the middle. Draw it as the previous stroke.
  3. Draw the dot on the right from the right. This is a sweeping stroke heading toward the next stroke.
  4. Draw the dot on the left.
  5. Draw the hook that consists of a long horizontal part and a short sweeping part.
  6. Draw the smaller hook under the previous hook. The latter part of the hook is a sweeping stroke.
  7. Draw the curve from where you ended the previous stroke. Turn upward at the bottom.
  8. Draw the horizontal line from the left to the right.
