sora, a-ku, su-ku, a-keru, muna-shii, kara, kū

Sora is sky. Sorairo is sky blue.

Kūki is air. Aozora is blue sky as I mentioned here. Akizora is an autumnal sky. Samuzora is a wintry sky.

Emptiness is expressed by the character. Kara or karappo is empty. If you are in the state muna-shii, you feel empty. Soramimi is mishearing or a fake sound. If you hear soramimi, you hear something that has not sounded or you misunderstand somebody’s talk. Kūhaku is blank to fill in. Aki means vacant. A vacant lot is akichi. Chi is a land. A vacant room is akibeya or kūshitsu. Both beya (heya) and shitsu mean a room. Suku is to become empty and suiteiru means empty. For example, when your stomach has become empty, you can say onaka ga suita, meaning you have become hungry. Onaka means the stomach. If the road is not crowded, you can say dōro ga suiteiru or michi ga suiteiru.

Kūkō is an airport. Soraben is a box lunch sold at airports. Check the names of airports in Japan and try clicking some airports from this website, and you can see soraben sold at the airport.
