tano-mu, tano-moshii, toyo-ru, rai

To request something is tano-mu. Somebody reliable and full of promise is described as tano-moshii. To rely on somebody is tayo-ru. The suffixes, mu, moshii, and ru are all in hiragana. They are called okurigana.

Related compounds are irai (request), and shinrai (trust or reliance). The i of irai means to rely on. The shin of shinrai means to believe.
